Where's the reset button? Everything that could have gone wrong has. Now what? These thoughts flooded my mind one day as I realized I was making the same mistake repeatedly.  I buried my face in my hands as I cried out. I cried so hard that I could barely breathe. I walked around carrying the weight of guilt for a while until one day a friend of mine shared the reset button with me. There is hope. There is a reset. Christ Jesus is our reset.  One of my favorite scriptures is 2nd Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."  My understanding of that scripture if I desire a new start in life I need to be in Christ. I felt relieved to know that I could have a fresh start in life.  I didn't have to be down and depressed because of my past failures and my current struggles. Christ doesn't want this for us. There appears to be a sense of hopelessness in the world. A sense of fear. A lack of love. Why is it so important to us to be accepted and wanted? Willing to do anything for a thumbs up 👍 or a few more followers. Truth be told we all are trying to fill a void; a void of loneliness, or maybe the void of feeling invisible. Have you ever said to yourself it doesn’t matter if I’m here or not no one cares about me anyway? Maybe you feel void of love because the person you want to love you choose not to. A lot of us walk around every day empty because of all these thoughts and ongoing struggles. Every day we wake up to the same reality nothing has changed. And nothing will change until something actually changes. That change starts with us, we must stop allowing people, social media, and even our own minds to define us. The Bible tells us we are fearfully and wonderfully made. It doesn't matter that the world or social media says you aren’t skinny enough, curvy enough, or not fit enough...

As a parent of an African-American young teenager, my heart breaks at the many News stories of violence among them including homicides and suicides. Considering our teenagers are our future, that future looks bleak. There are many theories trying to understand the problem among our youngsters. Instead of looking to point blame let's point the problem to the solution. While listening to the reporters I encourage myself that there is hope and His name is Jesus Christ. With Jesus Hope is not lost. This story of Christ's reckless Love reminds me of the story of Saul. He was a persecutor of Christians. Saul was reckless, he killed many innocent people, had many killed, and had others falsely imprisoned. He was untouchable and unable to be stopped as he had permissible letters from the government.  As we look at our teenagers they may appear to be unstopped. But God. Social media is a world in itself. It appears that everything you may need in life is attached to social media. Everyone is seeking something in life. Some may be seeking fame and fortune, popularity, information, and connection to name a few.  We all are seeking something and as we stroll through social media it appears that we can find what our heart seeks. Entertainment is there, trendy hot topics are there the latest gossip is there, drama is there, networking opportunities are there, and various social groups to belong to they're there. Some spend countless hours on social media strolling through the different news feeds and posts. Attempting to fill whatever void they  may be experiencing.
