The stroll of social media
Social media is a world in itself. It appears that everything you may need in life is attached to social media. Everyone is seeking something in life. Some may be seeking fame and fortune, popularity, information, and connection to name a few. We all are seeking something and as we stroll through social media it appears that we can find what our heart seeks. Entertainment is there, trendy hot topics are there the latest gossip is there, drama is there, networking opportunities are there, and various social groups to belong to they're there. Some spend countless hours on social media strolling through the different news feeds and posts. Attempting to fill whatever void they may be experiencing. This void may be from boredom, the rush for the latest trends or drama, or just wanting to be in the know. Whatever the void, it seems that social media is fitting the bill. But there's something that social media cannot fill. If we can take a moment to get off the surface of life and go a little bit deeper into the soul of every person there's a longing for something not found on social media. The answer to the life after this one. There will come a day when social media is not as important to us as it is now. It will no longer fill the void of time we have, it will no longer bring the answers or the enjoyment. Social media is a temporary fix. Now it serves a purpose but there's a longing for something more than what is available on social media.
There will come a time when old age sets in if we are lucky. As we become closer to being out of this world than in, social media will not be as significant as it is now. You won't spend hours on hours strolling through social media posts but rather trying to get your affairs in order. Your final wishes. Let's take the time now to consider what affairs we need to have an order. The first is where will you spend eternity. When you leave here where are you going? Some may believe nowhere that is your choice to believe. Others that believe in Heaven or Hell or maybe you have heard of Heaven or Hell. Of these two choices where have you prepared yourself to leave here and arrive there? Life is about preparation. None of us was created to last and to live forever. All were born with an expected end date. So I say again life is about preparation are you preparing yourself for a life in Heaven or are you preparing yourself for life in Hell? It matters now how you live today to reach the future desired destination. The time that we use to stroll through social media could be valuable time used to make ready for our Heavenly home. For those who are preparing themselves for hell, the preparation is simple you don't have to accept Christ Jesus, you don't have to live according to His Holy Word, you can live your life as you see fitting strolling through social media or anything else that you deem pleasing. Live your life to the fullest and once the here and now becomes no more than your hell awaits you. But for those that are desiring the paradise of Heaven prepare yourself now. You may ask what does Heaven's preparation look like. Well, let's discuss the preparation for those desiring to be welcomed into Heaven. Simply, you accept Christ Jesus into your life as Savior first and then Lord. To accept Him as Savior means to confess that you are a sinner. The Bible tells us that "all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory" Romans 3:23. Meaning regardless if we believe in God or not we all have sinned. Everything that we've done is opposite or contrary to the Word of God whether ignorant of the Word or not it's a sin. Because the Word is true we confess that we are sinners and we ask to be forgiven by Christ Jesus. Christ loves us and died for each one of our sins that's why He came to die on the Cross. Romans 5:8 tells us "But God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." So because Christ has paid that ultimate sacrificial price of dying for us we are forgiven when we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness. When we believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ did die for our sins he was raised from the dead by God The Father. The Word tells us in Romans 10:9-10 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation."
We are saved that's all it is. Confess and to believe Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior. That is how we prepare for Heaven. So what is it going to be? A good stroll through social media may be good for now but one day it will not have the same value. Your soul must go somewhere Heaven or Hell. The choice is yours, how you live today affects your future. As long as you have breath in your body it is not too late to make the changes to be prepared for your future. Again it's your choice. You can choose to change to allow Jesus Christ in your life, you can choose to believe in Christ Jesus. You can also choose not to and the reward or the consequence of your choices are yours.
It would be wise to put social media on pause for a while and prepare for your future. We don't know when our last day, last moment, or our last breath is but what we do know is for everyone it is coming. How we prepare now, determines our future. So go ahead take your break from the stroll find you a Church that will teach you about the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ and teach you how to have a relationship a right relationship with the Father. This is primarily above anything this world may deem as important or trending.
